About 2 weeks after buying a TI-89 titanium, I found this app. I wish I had found it before I bought the outdated, yet still overpriced calculator. You can write your own programs for the calculator within the app and you select all the functions of the language from the menus, so its relatively easy to get started. After a few days of using this app, going back to the calculator makes the old TIs shortcomings painful: - the backlit display on the iPhone is great, the calculator has no light and is difficult to see (both the screen and the keys) without very proper illumination - the touchscreen makes it a much faster interface, and zooming in and out of graphs is awesome on the app and painful on the calculator - the ti calculator is sloooowwww. Graphing and zooming is immediate on the iPhone but takes several seconds on the ti - the iPhone is already in your pocket and you dont need to take the bulky calculator or buy AAA batteries I really dont know why these calculators still cost so much. They are the same price theyve been for decades, without improving their technology, speed, memory, size, screen or software. With the vastly superior iPhone being basically free now, I thought this very old calculator design wouldve deflated to maybe $30 or $40. But no. The only reason why you might want to buy the actual calculator is if you need it to take tests in school, as some require a ti. For this app, I just wish there was support for the programmer, and a way to write and test programs for the app on the computer and then upload them, because switching keyboards on screen and typing with your fingers is not great. Bottom line: get the app, you wont regret it

Im taking a stats class right now and after the shock of textbooks costing $275 and needing to pay ___ for access to this and another ___ for access to that, I realized that I would need a graphing calculator, which would cost another $104+. This app not only saved me about $100 but thus far, I can figure out any differences between this interface and TI-84 and it has worked. Furthermore its on my iPad so everything is bigger and clearer than it would be had I bought a TI-84. Perfect. If I had to ding one thing about this app its that there doesnt seem to be a useful "help" or "how-to" guide, and given that its not actually identical to a TI graphing calculator, I fumble a lot until I figure it out. Would love some directions! Thank you for making this great app available.

Needs some sizing updates on the iPad pro. When it is brought up on the slide out side screen buttons on both sides of the calculator are cut off. Then when you try to adjust it out a little bit it only has the half screen option. Its not the end of the world but hopefully this can be addressed soon. The actual function of the calculator however is awesome. Convenient, classic layout and great versatility. Keeps up with everything I need it to do in my upper division courses which is rather impressing for an application. Well worth the small monetary investment.

Duplicates functionality of TI-83 at a fraction of the price. Also runs much faster because iphone hardware is far superior to TI-83. App is well worth the price.

My TI 83 recently quit working on me so I figured I’d look on here for a replacement and this is it. It has the setup and interface just like I’m used to, plus everything is so much faster. Graphing, finding intersects, integrals, and max and mins just require a tap on the screen. The matrix solver works much faster than the TI 83. There are additional apps for financial and geometry calculations, and even chemistry. This is hands-down the best graphing calculator I have seen on iOS. Also, the guy who makes this is on the ball and has submitted fixes for the last 3 iOS updates the first day possible. Rest assured this app will be supported come the next iOS release!

Are you kidding me? Id pay $60 for this app. By far. No competition. I recommend it to all of my students. The help feature is amazing. I cant believe what a fantastic value this is!

LOL- all you have to do to get help from the developer is touch the calculator ? key twice. Or just select the “App Support” button in the AppStore (next to the "Write a Review" button) and talk to the developer directly. This developer has amazing tech support and responds very rapidly. If you touch the ? key and then another key a help page with examples of how to use the key is displayed. All the menu functions have a circled i icon. When you touch the icon, a help page is displayed that demonstrates how to use the function. You don’t need a TRACE button anymore- just go to the GRAPH screen and touch the graph you want to trace with your finger. The Zoom and Calc functions are conveniently located at the bottom of the graph view instead of the keyboard- great shortcut! This is so much better than anything else on the app store- it has color, it has touch interface for everything, it has a periodic table to kill for and it is blazing fast for graphing FULL SCREEN on iPhone and iPad. And now the developer has added split screen and slide over multitasking for the iPad! All for a small fraction of the cost of a TI.

If you used the TI 83/84/85 in school, then this is the calculator for you. Great on both the iPad and iPhone.

This is just like a TI-83, except its faster, has an HD color display, a touchscreen, Internet connectivity for sharing & printing calculations, well-written instructions for *everything* just a tap of the ? button away, and its way less expensive. Oh, and it fits in my pocket much better :) This is what Texas Instruments would have designed if they had iPhones and iPads at the time they made the TI-83!

This app is perfect. Does everything a ti-83 normally would and helped in my college algebra class when my actual ti-83 broke

Ive written several reviews for this app. All have 5 stars. The developer cares about his product and responds directly to suggestions and problems. That alone is worth the download. The addition of split screen and everything else makes this app priceless. Thank you!

I ditched my bulky calculator and just use this app with students. They especially appreciate the visual d/dx!

This app is fantastic. I am an algebra two teacher and I use this app all the time. I use it on my iPad to demonstrate various graphs to my students. Its extremely use user-friendly. It was tough to pay the 5.99 but I have no regrets now.

I just want to thank the app creators. This is the best app Ive ever purchased. Period. So affordable. Does everything a graphing calculator does, but I would argue that its better. The graph graphics (pun intended) are kind of stunning -- yeah, stunning. My professor allows me to use it in class on my iPad. Life is good. Love this app.

I reviewed this apps previous version. Simply amazing. It works better than the real deal yet remains faithful to the TI-83s interface, features, and styling. I highly recommend this program.

I cant count the number of other apps I have tried since 2010, but this one is the best. Keep up the great work!

This is the best calculator app I have used by far. It is identical to a ti-83 and I would recommend it to anyone!

You might not be allowed to use this app on a test, but it is as functional as any standard graphing calculator out there. The developer has done a good job implementing all the features and even enhancing the experience with the phone touchscreen. It is not buggy or slow, and the design is well thought out. For me it was worth the investment.
